Where Chaplin meets tchaikovsky
In Schërzo, Släpstick's quirky, whirlwind and hilarious take on classical music, nothing is what it seems. The four musical all-rounders take you on a humorous trip along the masterpieces of Rossini, Brahms, Schubert, Saint-Saëns, Gershwin and many other illustrious composers. In their inimitable way, Släpstick plays the great classics and in the process honors comedy heroes such as Victor Borge, Mini & Maxi, Danny Kaye and Charlie Chaplin.
Where the music term "Scherzo" (Italian for Scherts, joke) stands for a short, lively piece, Släpstick with Schërzo is happy to rack this definition a little further. Because if physical theater and top musicians come together with a great sense of timing and humor, you can expect a jeering Schubert in a belly talk with Beethoven, a speed devil on the double bass and of course the "21 masterpieces" in 1 minute.

In Schërzo, Släpsticks eigenzinnige, wervelende en hilarische kijk op klassieke muziek is niets wat het lijkt. De vier muzikale alleskunners nemen je mee op een kolderieke trip langs de meesterwerken van Rossini, Brahms, Schubert, Saint-Saëns, Gershwin en vele andere illustere componisten. Op onnavolgbare wijze (be)speelt Släpstick de grote klassiekers en eert en passant comedy-helden als Victor Borge, Mini & Maxi, Danny Kaye en Charlie Chaplin.
Waar de muziekterm ‘scherzo’ (Italiaans voor scherts, grap) staat voor een kort, levendig stuk, rekt Släpstick met Schërzo deze definitie graag nog een eindje verder op. Want als fysiek theater en topmuzikanten met veel gevoel voor timing en humor samenkomen, kun je een jodelende Schubert in een buikspreek-battle met Beethoven, een snelheidsduivel op de contrabas en natuurlijk de ’21 meesterwerken in 1 minuut’ verwachten.

Eerdere theatershows
Met de eerdere theatershows Släpstick en The Roaring Twenties maakten de muzikale clowns van Släpstick nationaal en internationaal furore. Met uitverkochte zalen van Nederland tot Nieuw-Zeeland, ovationeel applaus en een prijzenregen als resultaat.Släpstick’s nieuwe show Schërzo vierde haar wereldpremière in Edinburgh in de zomer van 2023, waarna concerten in Duitsland en Zuid-Korea volgden. In het voorjaar van 2025 gaat deze klassieke show in première in de concertzalen en theaters in Nederland.
