We Are the Champions: The Greatest Hits & More is the ultimate tribute to Queen as a live band. Crazy Little Things already showed in their two previous theatre tours Queen: The Story and The Freddie Mercury Story that they go a little further than other Queen tribute bands. With the new show We Are the Champions, everything revolves around the pure sensation of a Queen concert.
Jean-Paul Heck, music journalist, writer and drummer of the band, saw his first live performance of Queen at the age of 14. “30 January 1979, I remember it as if it were yesterday. 45 years later I can reproduce almost every moment of that night. The power of the band, the explosive drums of Taylor, the guitar power of May but above all the force of nature Freddie Mercury.”
Crazy Little Things will reproduce the power of the original Queen shows in the 2026–2027 theatre season in the Netherlands. Using the greatest hits and deep cuts, Crazy Little Things takes you by the hand in this new show on a journey through time and space, where the spotlight is placed on the highlights Queen delivered live. According to Pablo Cabenda of de Volkskrant, there is no band in the Netherlands that comes this close to the live sound of Queen. Or as Leo Blokhuis once said: “Crazy Little Things is the real thing!” In doing so, he connects to the beautiful words Mercury once sang: “Let Me Entertain You!” and that is exactly what Crazy Little Things will do with their spectacular new show.
We are the Champions: The Greatest Hits & More is het ultieme eerbetoon aan Queen als live-band. Crazy Little Things liet in hun twee eerdere theatertours Queen: The Story en The Freddie Mercury Story al zien dat ze net wat verder gaan dan andere Queen Tributebands. Met de nieuwe show We are the Champions draait alles om de pure sensatie van een Queen-concert.
Jean-Paul Heck, muziekjournalist, schrijver en drummer van de band, zag op 14-jarige leeftijd voor het eerst een liveoptreden van Queen. “30 januari 1979, ik weet het nog als de dag van gisteren. 45 jaar later kan ik bijna elk moment van die avond reproduceren. De kracht van de band, de knallende drums van Taylor, het gitaargeweld van May maar vooral de natuurkracht Freddie Mercury.”
Aan de hand van de grootste hits en deep cuts neemt Crazy Little Things je in deze nieuwe show bij de hand voor een reis through time & space waarbij de spotlight wordt gezet op de hoogtepunten die Queen live voorschotelde. Volgens Pablo Cabenda van de Volkskrant komt er geen band in Nederland live zo dicht bij de sound van Queen. Of zoals Leo Blokhuis ooit zei: “Crazy Little Things is het echte werk! Daarbij sluit hij aan bij de mooie woorden die Mercury ooit zong: ‘Let Me Entertain You!’ en dat is precies wat Crazy Little Things met hun spectaculaire nieuwe voorstelling gaat doen.
